We are excited to get back to normal operations. We are going to have our PJ Day tomorrow with a $2 donation and then we will celebrate the 100th Day of School on Monday. We also wanted to let you know that there will NOT be any ice cream sales tomorrow because the delivery did not come in. Can't wait to see everyone in the morning!

Good morning, HCES Families! For those who can make it safely to the school, we will have meals ready to hand out between 9:30-12:30. Please come to the back of the school to pick up. You can text your order into Ms. Livia before you come at 706-302-0812. Please include your child's name and lunch number. If you did not text ahead of time, just come to the school and give your child's name and lunch number to receive the meals. Please drive carefully.

Attention morning car rider parents, after you drop your child off at the front, please do not turn left and go around the backside of the building. Our Brave Life students are being dropped off back there in the mornings. We do not need extra vehicles zooming around the backside of the building creating an unsafe situation. I do understand that traffic gets backed up, but we ask that you wait patiently in the line to ensure everyone exits safely. Thank you for helping with this situation. See you in the morning and Go Braves!

Happy New Year HCES Families! We look forward to seeing all our students back in the building tomorrow morning. As I am sure everyone is aware, the weather is going to be very chilly this week. Please make sure you dress warm. Just a reminder that the tardy bell rings at 7:40. We will see everyone tomorrow morning!

HCES Families- We have around 50 students left today. If you are a car rider, please plan to pick up in the front this afternoon. Bus Riders will be early this afternoon. I would plan to be prepared for drop off to be 20-30 minutes early. We hope that everyone has a wonderful break and a very Merry Christmas!

HCES- The text that just went out was a mistake. Friday is Christmas Party Day. Dress in your Christmas best.

HCES Families- This morning there was another wreck at Pea Ridge and Hwy 34. I know there are varying opinions on the turn lane, however, the turn lane is now there and we need to be mindful of how to use it. If you are in the turn lane and someone is trying to turn left onto Pea Ridge, those in the turn lane must yield for those turning across traffic. If you are turn left off of Hwy 34 onto Pea Ridge, you must pay close attention to cars that are staying straight on Hwy 34 going to Newnan. These cars do not have to yield to you. If you are turning left off of Pea Ridge onto Hwy 34, please make sure that you are looking past the turn lane to ensure nobody is coming straight down Hwy 34.
Also, if you are one of the parents that drops your Brave Life student off at the gym, please drive carefully around the driveway. We have teachers that are arriving. They are trying to park and cross the driveway carefully. There have been a couple of times where cars are speeding through this area. Please slow down.

Good afternoon, our car rider line will run through the front of the school, so the students and staff can stay dry this afternoon. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hat Day Friday, November 1.
Donate $1 and wear your best hat. Mr. Hammond, one of our parents and business partners, is facing a battle with cancer. He and his family will be traveling to Mexico for intensive treatment. All proceeds from our hat day will be donated to the Hammond family. We encourage all students to bring $1 and wear their favorite hat. Thank you for supporting our HCES Family!

HCES Families:
Tomorrow is Halloween and costume day! We encourage students to come dressed up, but please remember a few guidelines:
* Costumes should not be scary or gory
*Masks are allowed, but must be easily removable & fit in your child's backpack during class time.
*Face paint is welcome as long as it is school-appropriate
Let's make it a fun, festive, and safe day for all!

Picture Day is coming on Monday, October 21!
You can place your order on mylifetouch.com using your Picture Day ID: EVT22MZWB. Order before midnight on Picture Day to get FREE shipping!
Your child can also bring their completed flyer with cash or check on Picture Day. Make check out to Lifetouch.

Parents & Guardians,
This letter is to inform you that Friday, August 30th will be an Early Release Day for Heard County
Schools. We will have a modified schedule that day and students will be dismissed at 11:00. All students
will still be served breakfast and lunch that day. Students will eat lunch right before dismissal time. At
11:00, car riders will begin and all bus riders will load buses. The buses will leave from HCES and travel to
the high school and then the middle school just like they do on a regular day.
There will be NO ASP on this day. All students will need to be a car rider or a bus rider. Please send in a
note if your child is going home a different way then usual. If someone new will be picking your child up,
please make sure that the person has one of our YELLOW car rider tags to display in their window. You
can request a tag from your child’s homeroom teacher if you are in need of an extra one.
If you have any further questions, please call us.
Thank you!

Good afternoon HCES Families! We are looking forward to seeing all our students back in the building tomorrow morning. We just wanted to send a couple of reminders before we start. First, remember that traffic is always more hectic at the beginning of the year. Please be patient and drive carefully. Parents may walk students in on Monday and Tuesday if you would like to. Please remember that this is not a time for a conference. We ask that you walk them in, give them hugs and kisses, and then let them get going with their day. All 1st through 5th grade students will go through the breakfast line upon arrival. Pre K and K go to breakfast later in the morning, they will go straight to the classroom. For afternoon car riders, cars will line up on Pea Ridge and will enter the property at 2:20. If needed, the line may wrap through the Bus Barn area. Mr. Anderson and Coach Cofield will be out at Pea Ridge to help with directing the cars starting at 2:20 this week. Again, please be patient and carful when traveling in the line.
The first bell rings at 7:10 and the tardy bell rings at 7:40. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. Go Braves!

Good morning, HCES! We can't wait to see everyone today! Please be careful as you arrive due to the construction on 34.
If you haven't uploaded your proof of residency, please make sure to bring a physical copy with you today.
See you at 1:00! Go Braves!
