Heard County Names Bianco as New Athletic Director

December 9, 2020

Franklin, GA     The Heard County Board of Education voted unanimously to make Mr. Trent Bianco the new athletic director for the Heard County School System in a called meeting today.  The announcement comes on the heels of Coach Shane Lasseter being promoted to the Head Football coaching position.  Mr. Bianco began his teaching career at Carrollton High School in the Mathematics classroom.  He came to Heard County High School and joined the staff as a Mathematics teacher and then transitioned to a role in Special Education.  He is currently in his 4th year leading the Audio Video Technology Pathway at Heard High.  Out of his 13 years in education, Coach B has spent the last 8 in the Heard County School System.

Superintendent, Rodney Kay, offered these comments, “We are excited to see Coach Bianco take the next step in his career.  First and foremost, to all of our baseball community, Coach will still be the head baseball coach at Heard County High School.  He is a beloved coach and his passion is still alive and well for all things baseball.  Trent has the ability to pour into others after establishing himself here as one who does things the right way and has always had an incredible work ethic.  He has built a program that can stand alongside any in the state and I’m excited that he will have the opportunity to assist others from an athletic director’s role.  Along with his servant heart comes his will to continue to push us forward and that’s what it takes to stay on top.  He will do a tremendous job in his new role for our students, faculty, and community.”

When asked about the opportunity, Coach Bianco issued the following statement, “I'm so grateful for this opportunity to step into this position and work hand in hand with all of our coaches in our school system.  This community is truly a special place and to have an opportunity to impact our student athletes on a larger scale is something I cannot wait to do.  Thank you to our school board, Mr. Kay, and Coach Lasseter for putting your trust in me with these added responsibilities.  I cannot wait to get started with Coach Lasseter to help push all of our athletic programs to new heights."

Coach Bianco will take over officially Monday, January 4th.
